At that time I created a quick .bat file which would allow you to quickly use Launchy to post a list item to a Backpack page, which is detailed here.
Fast forward to today when I logged into my Backpack account for the first time in a long time and discovered the Journal feature. For a long time I've had a batch file setup to call from Launchy where I can type out a quick blurb about what I'm working on and have it logged to a text file (one file per day). This really was just for me to be able to go back to a day and figure out just what in the world I spent my time one. This Jounal might lend itself to sort of the same application.
With all this said here is a .bat file that will allow you to quickly add an entry to your Backpack Journal via Launchy. Read the Lifehacker article for info on where to place the .bat file and get it working. You will need to replace the following three pieces of data within the .bat file to get it to work for you:
- BACKPACKAPI - found on the My Info page when logged into Backpack.
- URL - http://yourneatbackpack.backpackit.com
- USERID - can also be found on the My Info page. Look at the URL when you are there. That number between /users/ and /edit/ is your user id.
