What happened here. Well I'm still working out the kinks, but the few of you that stop by here will see that things have changed (Google Analytics says there might be one or two). For one I switched moceph.us from a self hosted Blogger site to one where I'm letting them do all the work. Why not, I mean I'm too lazy these days to worry with running my own thing. I had all these plans to make the site do complicated things and do this and do that but in the end I just wanted a site that I could scribble down some dribble whenever I wanted to.
Over the years my 'web presence' (whatever that means) has worn many different set of clothes. I started out with a hand coded website, jumped on the Blogger bandwagon way back when mathowie , and evhead , and megnut ran the show. After that it was on to Greymatter because that was what the cool kids were doing before Movable Type showed up led by those two cute kids in San Fran. For a while it was on to Wordpress because open source is cool and thrown in between there was a Rails based blog engine called Typo , another PHP thingy called Chyrp and probably some other things that I'm forgetting.
Originally things started at my austin-moody.com domain before moving over to the old mocephus.org domain which I let expire and lost. Along the way I started and stopped many times and at some point deleted every single byte of content that I had going back to the start in late 1999. Not on accident, but because I was at some oddly strange bad period in my life and just didn't want to read it or didn't think I'd ever want to read it again or whatever. Now I wish I still had it.
In the end, I'm not sure what this site will become or if I even care. I just wanted a place somewhere to jot things down that was a bit more solid because I think I'm starting to tire of Tumblr a bit (although it is great) and Vox just isn't doing it for me for some reason. I've got several drafts of things that may or may not see the light of day, but I'm sure I will not go back to those old blogging days where on Monday I would post about what I ate on Saturday and Sunday so don't worry.
